(We do not collect these names or emails!)Fans of the original "Alvin and the Chipmunks" are sure to get a kick out of the latest film adaptations of the classic cartoon, which originally premiered in 1958.
The 2007 version of "Alvin and the Chipmunks" starred Jason Lee as Dave, the guardian of the chipmunks. Justin Long voiced the irascible and energetic Alvin, Jesse McCartney delivered Theodore's lines and Matthew Gray Gubler played Simon.
In the first film, the tree that the three chipmunks live in is chopped down to become a Christmas tree, leaving the boys homeless. The boys wind up in LA, where they meet Dave, a songwriter who adopts them. At first the chipmunks frustrate Dave when they meddle in his career and personal life, but the boys eventually redeem themselves.
The second film, "Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel," which is currently in theaters, finds the gang still living with Dave. They begin attending school and fall in love with three female chipmunks, The Chipettes, who also sing and dance. The Chipettes are voiced by Christina Applegate, Anna Faris and Amy Poehler.
