The Princess and the Frog is a landmark of American cinema - the film has made headlines for being among the first animated Disney movies to have an African-American female as the lead.

The movie is set in prohibition-era New Orleans and is based on the Grimm Brother's fairy tale "The Frog Prince." The story follows Tiana, a young waitress who has been scrimping and saving for years to realize her dream of opening up her own restaurant. However, Tiana's mother is worried that the busy young lady has no room for love in her life.

Meanwhile, Prince Naveen has been cut-off from his family for his lackadaisical lifestyle. He's about to marry Charlotte, a rich woman, for her money, but a voodoo magician intervenes.

The movie was helmed by John Musker and Ron Clements, who also teamed up for other Disney favorites like "Aladdin" and "Hercules."

Moviegoers young and old will appreciate this heartwarming story, and children who love other classic Disney films like "Beauty and the Beast" or "The Little Mermaid" will enjoy "The Princess and the Frog."
