Print this article People.com reports that the American Film Institute (AFI) has released its vote for the Top 10 movies and TV shows of 2009. Did any of your favorites make the cut?
The votes for this year's best to grace the silver screen included a broad sampling of dramas, from Tim Burton's animated film , "Coraline," to the hilarious comedy "The Hangover." Smaller films like "A Serious Man" and "The Hurt Locker" also made it onto the top 10 list.
TV fans might see their favorite titles on the list the institute singled out a few serious dramas like "Mad Men" and "Big Love," as well as some lighter-hearted hits like "The Big Bang Theory" and "True Blood."
This year might have already heralded in some truly classic hits. But with the buzz around "Avatar," which is rumored to have had a budget in excess of $300 million, and the fun trailers for "Sherlock Holmes," perhaps the best is yet to come.
It has been rumored that "Avatar" is already being considered as a nominee for a Best Picture Oscar.
