Print this article Kate Bosworth has signed herself on to star in "Lost Girls and Love Hotels," a movie that has her playing a flight attendant who lives in Japan. The actress bought the rights to the film, which is based on the novel of the same name written by Catherine Hanrahan.
By day, 20-something Margaret is a Canadian living in Tokyo and working for an airline company. She trains other young women to serve those who are flying the friendly skies. But at night she becomes a different person who indulges in more base behaviors.
The story is a review of her strange double life, as well as a tale of redemption. If it is anything like the book, it will also be populated with colorful characters like Japanese gangsters and a bartender who speaks in song lyrics.
Bosworth first gained notoriety for her role as Anne Marie Chadwick in the surf film "Blue Crush" and has since appeared in a string of roles including Lois Lane in "Superman Returns," and Jill in "21."
Fans of films like "Lost in Translation" are likely to enjoy the film, which is still in pre-production.
