(We do not collect these names or emails!)When it was announced that director Peter Jackson had set out to create three movies based on J.R.R. Tolkien's trilogy "The Lord of the Rings," fans of Middle Earth rejoiced.
The beloved story follows Frodo Baggins (Elijah Wood) and the fellowship of travelers who accompany him on his journey to destroy a magical ring that grants the wearer the ultimate power of invisibility.
However, the ring incites jealousy and violence in all of those around it. Frodo must battle evil wizards and survive countless fights to achieve his goal.
Some fans of the series might not know that "The Hobbit" is actually a prequel to the trilogy. "The Hobbit" is the story of Bilbo (Frodo's uncle) and how he first discovered the ring of power.
Unfortunately, those waiting with bated breath for the film adaptation of the book might be a little disappointed. The production schedule for the project, which will consist of two installments, has been continually pushed back. Cinemablend.com reported that the first film should hit theaters in December 2011, and the second in December of 2012.
Both films are set to be directed by Guillermo del Toro who helmed "Pan's Labyrinth."
