Film buffs and musical fans alike will be interested in "Nine". The movie will be directed by Rob Marshall, who has helmed other on-screen adaptations of classic musicals, like 2002's "Chicago".

The film boasts a host of Academy Award winners, including Daniel Day-Lewis, Judi Dench, Nicole Kidman (who also starred in the on-screen musical "Moulin Rouge"), as well as Marion Cotillard and Penelope Cruz. Golden Globe winner Kate Hudson also appears in the film.

The story is based on the life of fictional Italian director Guido Contini (Lewis) who is struggling through his latest project. He feels conflicted as he examines his relationships with the women in his life, who include his mother (played by Sophia Loren), his wife (Cotillard) and his girlfriend (Cruz).

The film boasts spectacular visuals and impressive dance numbers. Fans of Julie Taymore's "Across the Universe" are guaranteed to love the film. It's also slightly refreshing to see Lewis, who has won critical acclaim for his gritty roles in "Gangs of New York" and "There Will Be Blood" don a suit and sing a few tunes.
