The film, which stars Daniel Radcliffe as the young wizard, is based on the sixth book in the beloved series. Once again, Harry returns to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry for another year full of perils and adventures.
In the wake of the tragic events that have plagued Harry in previous movies, the talented young wizard is full of dread. Eventually, Harry stumbles upon a textbook that is filled with hand-written advice from someone called the Half-Blood Prince. The book seems to be the only ray of light in an otherwise dreary school year, but it could lead Harry down a dark path.
This installment is a pivotal part of the series as it explains much of Harry's past while setting the stage for the journey that still lies ahead.
The movie was directed by David Yates, who also helmed the fifth movie, "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix."
The talented young cast carries the film, which also boasts superb performances by veteran actors like "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street" alums Helena Bonham Carter and Alan Rickman, as well as two-time Oscar-winner Maggie Smith who recently appeared in "Becoming Jane."
