If you consider "Howl's Moving Castle" and "Spirited Away" to be among your favorite movies, get ready for another Japanese hit. While it features American actors, "Astro Boy" is based on a manga comic series that started in 1952 in Japan. The CGI-animated feature comes to theaters on October 23.

Dr. Tenma, voiced by Nicholas Cage, creates Astro Boy to replace his deceased son. Unlike his first little boy, this creation is a robot and he worries about his non-human status. He wants to feel like everyone else, and leaves his home, Metro City, to find others like him. Instead, he discovers a plot to destroy the city, and takes actions to hopefully become a hero, rather than an outcast.

"Astro Boy" boasts quite the cast, even if their own faces are not displayed onscreen. Kristen Bell plays Astro Boy's friend Cora. She recently appeared in the hilarious comedy, "Couples Retreat." In addition, Charlize Theron lends her voice to the Narrator role. She can be seen displaying her science fiction skills in the 2005 film "Aeon Flux."ADNFCR-2673-ID-19427620-ADNFCR
