The upcoming film "Coco Before Chanel" starring Audrey Tautou, formerly seen in the French film "Amelie," charts the famous designer's life before she entered the fashion world. According to the New York Times, this biopic "is an unusually vivid and convincing account of the historical past, composed in the present tense."
A more modern fashion-crazy girl is played by Isla Fisher in "Confessions of a Shopaholic." Rebecca Bloomwood (Fisher), an aspiring journalist, is desperate for the latest styles and trends. How will she be able to balance her debt and passion for designer shoes? This film was adapted by a book of the same name, written by Sophie Kinsella.
The high-style boss from hell, Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep), teaches eager writer Andy Sachs (Anne Hathaway) a thing or two about couture in "The Devil Wears Prada." Initially unwilling, Andy comes to take fashion and her demanding job very seriously in this film, which is based on Lauren Weisberger's book of the same title.
