Those who have premium cable channels are able to enjoy edgier programming than on some regular networks, like the show "The United States of Tara" starring Toni Collette as a woman with multiple personalities. Recently, Collette won the Emmy for best actress in a dramatic series.

Interestingly, renowned director Steven Spielberg executive-produced this unique series for the Showtime channel. Spielberg fans will be pleased to hear that he is planning to work with the channel on an additional project.

The new show charts the birth, rehearsal and performance of a Broadway musical, focusing on the main characters' lives on and offstage. Variety describes the work as a "behind-the-scenes look at every aspect" of putting together a musical.

Spielberg is also an Oscar-winning director with an incredibly impressive resume to date. He directed the classic movie, "E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial" about an alien who comes to earth and the young boy who connects with him.

Action movie fans will, of course, be aware that Spielberg directed the epic "Indiana Jones" movies. The series follows the intrepid archeologist and explorer, played by a swarthy Harrison Ford, as he tracks down lost, precious items and somehow manages to thwart danger. The latest edition, "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" hit theaters last year to the delight of fans everywhere.
