Burton was responsible for directing family favorites like "James and the Giant Peach,""Pee Wee's Big Adventure" and the twisted holiday tale, "A Nightmare Before Christmas." He worked with Johnny Depp on the unforgettable classic, "Edward Scissorhands," bringing together the real world with the mysterious. In "9," Burton imagines an animated post-apocalyptic place where humanity has failed due to the malfunctioning of The Great Machine - the device that controls the planet's machinery. Before their demise, scientists roused their creations - a group of "stichpunk" creatures, numbered one through nine. Their mission is to defeat the remaining machines by which humans were defeated.
