Fans of "Crank" starring the one-time French Connection model and 'tough guy' actor Jason Statham are eagerly awaiting the DVD release of sequel, "Crank 2: High Voltage," set to drop September 8.

Those who missed catching "Crank 2" in theaters can soon enjoy this action-packed film, described as "an eye-popping strobe of flesh and blood" and "visually stunning" by Entertainment Weekly.

The plot catches up with our hero Chev Chelios (Statham) three months after his fall from a helicopter in "Crank." Here, Chelios had to keep his adrenaline level high to avoid death after a malicious poisoning, but in "Crank 2" this hit man loses his heart - literally.

His organ is snatched away by a gang of Chinese mobsters, who replace it with an electrically-powered heart with an attacked battery pack that must be kept charged at all times - or else Chelios will perish. "Crank 2: High Voltage" follows the hit man's search for his heart, with a bit of romance and high-octane action to keep things interesting.

Dedicated fans or avid DVD collectors may want to consider purchasing the enhanced Blu-ray disc, but all "Crank: High Voltage" editions feature Spanish and English subtitles and full frame or widescreen viewing options.
