After killing a man in self-defense, Chato (Charles Bronson), a half-breed Apache, is on the run from a 13-man posse, because that man was the town Sheriff. Vowing to avenge the death of their fallen constable, they follow Chato into the wilderness. Living off the land, he outwits the riders tracking him, picking them off one by one.
