Korean director La Hee-Chan's offbeat action comedy GOING BY THE BOOK opens on a crisis: a city plagued by a string of terrifying bank robberies. This causes great tumult among the citizens, who instinctively turn to the newly-hired police chief to solve the issue. Instead of addressing it with a conventionally effective approach, he opts for another route: hiring a traffic cop, Jung Do-Man, to infiltrate the den of thieves.
