A medical student finds her career in jeopardy and her life in danger after exposing a disturbing trend in which patients fall into deep comas during routine procedures. With the help of a talented young surgeon (Steven Pasquale, sleuthing medical student Susan (Lauren Ambrose) attempts to find out why an alarming number of patience have come out of surgery comatose.
