Gamers begin by joining the Dragon, Illuminati, or Templar factions as they vie for control and battle monsters around the globe. Characters don't level in The Secret World, and there are no specific character classes, but players can unlock new powers, clothing, and weapons by climbing the ranks of their faction.
There are thousands of weapons to acquire, including assault rifles, katanas, explosives, and various magic attacks, all of which come in handy when battling demons, vampires, werewolves, and even undead dinosaurs. The action takes place all over the world, from realistic castles and abandoned military bases in London, New York, and Seoul, to mythical locations in Egypt and Transylvania. Multiplayer fans can join friends in PvP conflicts to gain control of legendary locales like El Dorado, Shambala, and Stonehenge, or head into persistent war zones where more than 100 gamers battle simultaneously.
