Expanded Description Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light is a retro-themed role-playing game that follows the adventures of four unlikely adventurers on a quest to save a young princess from the evil Witch of the North. Designed by the team responsible for the DS conversions of Final Fantasy III and IV, Heroes of Light features play mechanics similar to those found in earlier Final Fantasy titles, with turn-based battles and character classes like the black mage, white mage, and ranger.
The game's visuals are designed to resemble a pop-up picture book, and the controls take advantage of the handheld's touch-screen interface. Character roles or jobs can be switched at any point during the game with the new "crown system," which alters a character's abilities simply by changing his or her hat. Up to four friends can go dungeon delving via wireless play, where they'll be able to earn battle points that can be exchanged for distinctive items.
