Struggling writer Richard Dunne (Jeff Daniels) is unhappy with his status in middle age, but his friendship with a young woman (SUPERBAD's Emma Stone) helps him make it through the day, much to the anger of his wife (Lisa Kudrow). Though that description might sound rather pedestrian, this dramedy adds a twist to the formula by introducing Richard's imaginary friend, a superhero played by Ryan Reynolds.
