Flicka Family Classics Collection 3-Disc Set DVD Description
Along with Black Beauty and the Black Stallion, Flicka is one of the most memorable equines in film and literature. This set collects three classic films that begin with the unruly horse: MY FRIEND FLICKA, THUNDERHEAD: SON OF FLICKA, and GREEN GRASS OF WYOMING. These family films from the 1940s follow Ken McLaughlin (Roddy McDowell in the first two films) as he attempts to train a number of horses, including the original animal, Flicka. A 2006 film, simply called FLICKA, switches the gender of the young protagonist to a girl, played by Alison Lohman.
