This film version of the Rodgers and Hammerstein Broadway smash tells the story of a young Chinese woman who travels to San Francisco as part of an arranged marriage. The problem is that her prospective husband has other plans. Not completely successful in its translation to the screen, it remains, nonetheless, an appealing presentation.
