Still widely unexplored, these islands feature a stunning array of wildlife, vast wilderness, and stately volcanoes. This Smithsonian Institute production was originally screened in the IMAX format.
IMAX - INTO THE DEEP: This underwater spectacular plunges into the depths of the ocean and brings viewers face to face with life far below the surface. Originally screened in the IMAX format, INTO THE DEEP was filmed off the southern coast of California. Among the animals filmed here are sharks, starfish, sea lions, and rare glimpses into the nocturnal creatures of the deep.
IMAX - SURVIVAL ISLAND: Along the Scotia Arc of the South Atlantic Ocean, South Georgia Island is home to some of the most populated animal cities on the globe. This IMAX production visits this area, made famous by Ernest Shackleton and his Antarctic voyage, films these stunning animal gatherings during the high seasons of spring and summer.
