A couple of neighborhood fellas on the mean streets of New York are fed up with the amount of crime in their working-class district. They and their cronies round up a posse, dub it an "auxiliary police force" and prepare to take back the streets. Soon, however, the fun and games of their new authority goes out of control, and things turn deadly serious.
