Steven Spielberg produced this live-action feature starring the friendly ghost created in 1940 by Joe Orolio. In it, greedy heiress Carrigan Crittenden inherits the haunted Whipstaff Manor and discovers that the house contains a treasure, which is closely guarded by three nasty ghosts. She invites ghost therapist Dr. James Harvey, and his daughter Kat, to move into the eerie mansion and get rid of the supernatural creatures.

<description>
When a laser-armed Department of Defense robot named Number 5 gets zapped by a lightning bolt, he "malfunctions" and starts spouting peace slogans and developing a human-like consciousness. Naturally, the newly pacifist machine wants out of the military and escapes. As a frantic search for the creature begins, Number 5 settles down in his new home, with a gentle young woman named Stephanie (Ally Sheedy), who has every intention of holding on to her find, teaching Number 5 about popular culture and other mysteries of life. Thoroughly convinced that the robot is alive, she develops a strong bond with the creature. In order to prevent his capture by the military--who view Number 5 as an armed-and-dangerous weapon--the pair must convince his inventor, a reclusive scientist named Newton Crosby (Steve Guttenberg), that he is truly alive and more than just a metal machine. The highly innovative robot created for director John Badham's film brings to mind other lovable science fiction icons such as E.T. and R2D2 from STAR WARS.

<description>
Joseph L. Mankiewiczs bittersweet, sparkling romance between a young widow and a sea captains ghost weaves a magical tale of immortal love. Determined to live her life the way she wants, newly widowed Lucy Muir (Gene Tierney) declines her straitlaced in-laws demand that she live with them and moves with her daughter (a young Natalie Wood) to the seaside into a cottage haunted by the handsome, blustering Captain Gregg (Rex Harrison). A deal is struck between the two in the wee hours of the morning allowing Lucy to stay in the house and the captain to materialize only in the master bedroom. As they gradually get to know each other better, Lucys spunk and stubbornness gains first the captains grudging respect, then his heart. But when another man woos Lucy, both must face that her future lies with the living, not in the spirit world.

<description>
You thought Michael Myers was decapitated at the end of HALLOWEEN: H20 Think again. The latest installment in the popular horror franchise, HALLOWEEN: RESURRECTION, uses a clever premise to give the legendary murderer yet another opportunity to wreak havoc on a cast of innocent characters. Back in Haddonfield, Illinois, Freddie Harris (Busta Rhymes), upstart entrepreneur of Dangertainment.com, recruits six lucky college students to partake in a potentially dangerous game. Wearing miniature video cameras, the participants must spend Halloween night inside the decrepit home of Michael Myers, to the delight of Internet viewers all over the country. While most of the kids are in it for fun, fame, and fortune, Sara Moyer (Bianca Kajlich) is a glaring exception. Innocent, shy, and nervous, Sara grudgingly joins her friends Jen (Katee Sackhoff) and Rudy (Sean Patrick Thomas), against her better judgment. As darkness sets in and the bodies begin to pile, it's up to Sara--aided by an Internet pen pal--to put an end to Michael once and for all (or so she thinks). Director Rick Rosenthal (HALLOWEEN 2) and screenwriters Larry Brand and Sean Hood incorporate technology into the story, using a grainy visual approach to add another layer of creepiness to the proceedings.

<description>
Tony Thompson (Jonathan Lipnicki) is a nine-year-old boy who has just moved to Scotland with his family. Tony is having trouble making friends at his new school, and he has strange dreams about vampires every night. One night a bat flies into Tony's room--a bat that then turns into Rudolph, a young vampire boy fleeing from an obsessed vampire hunter. Rudolph explains that the vampires don't want to hurt humans and only drink the blood of cows. Tony and Rudolph become friends, and Tony meets Rudolph's family. But Rookery, the vampire hunter, is chasing the vampires, trying to keep Rudolph's family from finding a missing magic stone that has the power to turn the vampires back into ordinary humans. Starring Richard E. Grant and Alice Krige as the vampire parents, THE LITTLE VAMPIRE is a fun family adventure with a good mix of lighthearted action and clever comedy. The film, based on a series of popular German children's books written by Angela Sommer-Brodenburg, features colorful characters and a herd of flying vampire cows.

<description>
Opening with spectacular aerial shots of a beautiful, mountainous landscape, Stanley Kubrick's horror classic THE SHINING sucks the viewer into his frightening tale with quiet, relaxing visuals--but the ominous soundtrack warns that all is not right at the gorgeous Overlook Hotel. Based on Stephen King's best-selling novel, the film stars Jack Nicholson at his eyebrow-raising best in his portrayal of Jack Torrance, a Vermont schoolteacher working at the Overlook as a winter caretaker. The glorious early-20th century resort only operates in warm weather because the snowy roads deny access in the colder months, so Jack brings his wife, Wendy (Shelley Duvall), with him, as well as his young son, Danny (Danny Lloyd), who possesses some unique psychic powers. As the Torrances settle in for the long, lonely months ahead, strange, unexplainable things start occurring in the hotel--and in every scene Jack seems to be growing a little more evil and dangerous....
